Our Story

Born in Chania, Crete, Katerina Makriyianni grew up in an artistic home where creativity and expression were a way of life. She pursued Theater Studies at Patra University and later studied design and engraving at L’Arti Orafe University in Florence, Italy.

In 1988, her parents, Nikos and Eva Makriyianni, established Technima, a jewelry boutique and workshop renowned for its handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces. Inspired by their legacy and her own passion for the applied arts, Katerina naturally gravitated toward jewelry design, eventually taking the reins of Technima and launching her personal brand.

Katerina's signature style is theatrical and bold, marked by clean lines, natural colour combinations, and delicate touches of gold that highlight the beauty of each piece. What sets the KM brand apart is not only its unique design language, but also its fully handmade production process, carried out in the Makriyianni family studio in Chania.

Katerina leads a close-knit team she has personally trained, fostering a collaborative, family-like atmosphere. Together, they bring to life collections that blend contemporary fashion with timeless artistry, earning the KM brand international recognition in the world of fashion jewellery.

Each KM piece is made to order exclusively for the wearer, and is inspired by Katerina's travels, fashion, the arts, and nature.
